A transformative experience from MSc to Senior Associate at PwC
Greek graduate Artemis Kalogridi studied her master’s at Bath. She tells us about her experience and how support from the University led to her current role.
Artemis graduated from the MSc in Human Resource Management in 2023. She now works as a Senior Associate within the Workforce Transformation Advisory Team at PwC, where she is involved in large-scale transformation projects.
Gaining the skills needed for future employment
Reflecting on her academic experience, the MSc in Human Resource Management helped to shape Artemis’ skills for her current role. The course gave her a foundation in human resources principles, strategic management and organisational behaviour.
‘The more strategic-focused components of the course such as Consulting and Managing Change were particularly impactful,’ Artemis explained. ‘They enhanced my analytical and problem-solving skills and gave me a strategic perspective.’
Choosing a university that opened doors
Artemis’ decision to apply for the MSc at the School of Management was influenced by several factors. These included the University’s high rankings in management education and the emphasis on practical skills.
‘What particularly drew me to this course was the intriguing curriculum it offered. The units aligned with my professional aspirations,’ she shared. ‘The School’s diverse range of business activities also promised a comprehensive experience that extended beyond traditional classroom learning.’
Studying in the UK
As an international student in the UK, Artemis found that Bath became a second home. She fondly recalls the city’s beauty and the welcoming atmosphere: ‘Bath offered a welcoming and inclusive environment, and a sense of community among students from diverse backgrounds.’
‘Taking part in various extracurricular activities and events meant I could immerse myself in the vibrant student life. These not only made my academic journey more enjoyable but also created a global network of friends that continues to be a valuable asset in my personal life.’
Feeling supported during her studies
The support provided by the University was instrumental in Artemis’s transition to employment.
‘The support from the dedicated University Careers Service was pivotal in securing my current job,’ she said. ‘They offered guidance on job applications and organised mock interviews and careers fairs. The Careers Service was a guiding force throughout the job-seeking process.’
