Writing music for the moving image requires a unique combination of both technical and creative skills. The aim is to give you critical appreciation of theory together with solid grounding in the techniques and practices essential for contemporary film and television music production. You will get the opportunity to work with award winning composers from the film and television industry on real world practical projects. After developing your composition skills in a range of genres you will also have the opportunity to work with colleagues from across the scheme in a variety of media to develop your portfolio of work.
In addition to the University entry requirements, you will require either a first degree in a related subject with evidence of a substantial technological component, or in a technological subject with evidence of creative ability, or a relevant professional qualification with supporting evidence of appropriate work through a professional portfolio.
