Course Description

The Management MSc is a fully online, part-time programme designed to equip aspiring managers and those seeking a career in management positions with the intellectual, learning, and professional skills they need to pursue a successful career in management. Students will combine a focus on practice with the critical management scholarship of an elite AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accredited Management School.

The complex and dynamic nature of contemporary international and global organisations is presenting new and challenging issues for managers. In such dynamic, diverse, and socially complex business environments, how we practice the craft of managing in international and global contexts requires practitioners who hold the capacity to learn and adapt to the growing demands of organisational needs and contexts. The global reach of companies means that they increasingly need to be able to function effectively in international and globalised environments; requiring managers who can effectively manage and grow within such an environment.

The programme curriculum blends management skills such as decision-making, learning and development, and strategy with core business skills which are tailored to the needs of management practice, including business analysis, marketing, financial management, people management, and leadership and change / resilience.

You will graduate with enhanced skills and knowledge that will enable you to be a highly effective professional manager, having developed a cultural awareness of international management practice. You will also be able to strategically influence your organisation through your developed ability to take on new and unknown challenges throughout a lifelong career in the fast-moving global business environment.

On completion of the programme, you will have gained insight into contemporary issues regarding the international nature of management practice. You will have developed your ability to apply analytical and problem-solving techniques to the decision-making process in real-life global business contexts, and to present your analysis in a professional and persuasive manner.

During your studies, you will be exposed to the different forms of organisations including private, public, third sector and small business enterprises. You will develop the collaborative, reflective and reflexive skills of an independent learner and developed your curiosity through engagement with research-connected teaching.

You will also develop critical awareness and understanding of the role of managers within the context of business sustainability, and ethics; helping you to undertake effective roles in business organisations as a responsible manager.
