The course combines core and optional units. The core unit at PgCert stage focuses on your practice as a dental educator, including teaching, learning and assessment strategies.
The core unit at PgDip stage focuses on the ways in which you lead and develop the dental team and develop your organisation as a learning organisation. In the final stage of the course, you have the opportunity to undertake a year long supervised project in an area of professional interest.
The course has been endorsed by the Academy of Medical Educators (on completion of PgCert units) and is aligned to the COPDEND UK (2013) Standards for Dental Educators. It provides opportunities to develop your thinking and practice within a dynamic multi-disciplinary community of clinical educators.
The course team model learner-centred teaching, learning and assessment practices. Assessments foster strong links between your learning and practice, allowing you to make immediate changes to enhance education and training in your organisation.
