Course Description

Our innovative programme will give you a thorough theoretical, research informed grounding in sport and exercise psychology as allow you to develop the essential skills to succeed as a practitioner or as an academic.

This is our non-BPS-accredited programme, meaning those who do not hold at least a 2:2 in a BPS accredited undergraduate degree are eligible to apply. We also offer a BPS-accredited MSc Psychology of Sport and Exercise which you can find out about here.

You will learn the relationships between theoretical concepts and practical techniques used in assessment and support, allowing you to develop the psychological skills used by practicing Sport and Exercise Psychologists.

Entry Requirements

You should usually hold a second-class honours degree (certain programmes may require a 2:1) from a recognised British or overseas university. Advice on recognition can be obtained from the Admissions Office. Non-graduates with appropriate professional qualifications will be considered on an individual basis by Programme Conveners; contact details can be found on the individual programme page. Applicants will be expected to apply and register for the full master’s award. Those with a third-class honours degree are encouraged to complete an application as we will consider an applicant’s wider circumstances in making a decision on an application.
