Course Description

Designed for individuals who have studied or are working in a health-related field, the University of Wolverhampton’s Master of Public Health (MPH) will expand your skills and knowledge on public health, and prepare you for progression in this exciting and important sector.

Drawing on UK government policy directives in public health and mapped against the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) specialist register standards, this degree adopts a strong focus on addressing health inequalities, empowering individuals and communities, and will build the skills needed for a proactive public health workforce.

Entry Requirements

You should have one or more of the following:

  • An Honours degree of 2:1 or above, or equivalent, in a health-related area: public health, health and social care, public health nursing, nutrition, pharmacology, health psychology, dentistry, or any other degree deemed appropriate by the admissions tutor.
  • Qualification in medicine, with a focus on public health medicine or community medicine.
  • A 2:2 degree in a health-related topic (see criteria above) with additional public health experience may be considered.
  • Any ‘non-standard’ qualification judged by the award team to be equivalent to the above (e.g. a relevant professional qualification or public health-related experience).
  • In exceptional circumstances, we would accept a minimum of three years’ experience at a senior level in a public health or related field.
