Course Description

The MSc Psychology (Distance Learning) programme is designed for you to study in your own time, without attending a campus. You can learn online, either full-time or part-time.

Internationally renowned academics created this course to provide you with the skills you need to enhance your employability.

You will develop an advanced understanding of key topics including:

  • the historical and conceptual aspects of psychology
  • cognitive and neurobiological psychology
  • lifespan and social psychology
  • individual differences
  • psychological research methods
  • mental health and psychological well-being

You will gain research experience, and learn how to devise your own experiments, culminating in designing and conducting your own psychological research project, supervised by one of our expert academic members of staff.

This programme is pending accreditation by the British Psychological Society (BPS).

  • An undergraduate degree that is at least 2:2 in any subject area.
  • Maths GCSE Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • English GCSE Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)

Student Destinations

This is a fast-track route to eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society. It is, therefore, an important step towards a professional career in Psychology.

Module Details

Teaching will take the form of bite-size segments, so you can easily fit your studies into your everyday life. The materials will consist of pre-recorded lectures and seminars, videos, podcasts, and other online resources that you can access at a time that suits you.

You will have a dedicated online student community, a bespoke study plan, and pastoral care and study support from your own Personal Academic Tutor. Thanks to cutting-edge research, you will have the opportunity to engage in advanced theoretical debates relevant to the understanding of contemporary issues in society.

You will require a laptop or a PC and a good internet connection to participate in this course.
