Postgraduate Credit Prescribing for Practice (V150) Level 7

Course Description

To enable you to develop and integrate the underpinning theory and practice to prepare you as a registered health professional to prescribe safely, appropriately and cost effectively under the professional regulations pertaining to the appropriate drug formulary.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be:

  • Either a Level 1 Registered Nurse or Midwife with at least one year post-registration experience in the field of practice.
  • Supported by an NHS Trust or equivalent employer.
  • The minimum academic entry requirement is 120 Level 4 credits and 120 Level 5 credits

In addition, the recommended academic entry requirement is at level 7, so students should provide evidence of ability to study at Masters’ level.

  • Provide evidence of ability to study at degree level (in any subject).

Students will be required to provide a statement of good health and character from their employing/sponsoring organisation.

  • You must provide a named Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor to support your 65 hours of supervised prescribing practice.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) will be considered on an individual basis.
