The Postgraduate Diploma in Solo Performance/Vocal Studies and Opera (International Artist Diploma) represents the pinnacle of achievement in performance at the RNCM and is intended for a small number of artists on the cusp of international careers.
Through intensive tuition and specialist classes, you’ll receive advanced musical training to the highest level in performance or conducting, honing your artistic, technical, presentation and communication skills. You’ll also expand your recital and concerto repertory and benefit from prestigious performance opportunities with the BBC Philharmonic and the College.
Admission to the International Artist Diploma is by competitive audition. Entrants must demonstrate exceptional ability and potential for an international career.
All students accepted onto this programme will have their tuition fees covered in full.
The PG International Artist Diploma and PG Diploma String leadership focus on the development of the individual with regard to effective preparation for an international career as a soloist / opera soloist / within a chamber ensemble / as an orchestral string player (section leader) or conductor.
Individual career development support and guidance will be given by members of the College’s Performance and Programming Team and mentors from the Hallé (string leadership), many of whom hold or have held in the past prominent positions in external arts organisations. With the exception of the first year of the conducting pathway (which is FHEQ Level 6) all elements of the programme are delivered at FHEQ Level 7 and are compulsory and form a
