You’ll address the challenges, problems and solutions involved in electrical and electronics engineering in modern industry, including optimal and intelligent electronic system design and development, and engineering operation and management. You’ll study and research new approaches in this field – and apply them to both real-world and research-orientated problems.
This course has been designed for students interested in developing their careers in both theoretical and practical areas of electrical and electronic engineering. It also prepares students wishing to continue their study to doctorial level research. Students successfully completing this course will be able to make an immediate contribution to a company’s performance and operations within the broad spectrum of modern industry.
Modules will be delivered through a series of lectures covering core concepts and material – and will be developed further during workshop/laboratory sessions where students will complete a number of associated and linked practical tasks. The assessment is 100% coursework and report based.
You’ll have the chance to work as both an individual and as part of a team on projects and topics including artificial intelligence, smart industrial robots, sensing and embedded systems, smart mechanical systems and products, intelligent industrial inspection, biomedical applications and surgical robotics.
