The emphasis throughout the MA programme is on developing your independent critical thinking and problem solving. Using an inquiry-based approach, the programme is designed to give you scope to examine in detail topics that are of particular interest to you.
MA Education can be studied over one year full-time, or two years part-time. It helps teachers to develop the educational understanding, analytical skills and leadership qualities necessary to improve pupil development and achievement in schools.
This programme provides you with the opportunity to learn more about curriculum, education management and leadership, as well as information technology and research methods.
MA Education is also appropriate for international students who would like to broaden their knowledge and understanding of different aspects of educational theory and practice.
We designed this programme for students wishing to explore the latest research in education. A wide range of specialist module subjects enable you to tailor the programme to your own specific needs.
A minimum of 2.2 Honours degree (or international equivalent) is generally required or appropriate professional experience will be taken into account. If your degree is not in a related subject area, we still welcome your application.
This degree is for anyone who is interested in Education in its widest sense; it will not qualify you to teach.
