A partnership between UCL, the Royal Free London and the Royal Free Charity, the Pears Building is home to UCL's Institute of Immunity and Transplantation (IIT). Researchers at the Institute are investigating new therapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis, arthritis, and type 1 diabetes, as well as developing new therapies to stop the rejection of transplants.
Here we meet some of the scientists and clinicians from the lab of Professor Hans Stauss, to find out more about their work on manipulating the body's immune system to control disease, what drives them and why they are excited about working with patients to find new cures.
