The UCL Social Research Institute is dedicated to advancing policy-oriented social science that creates meaningful change. Our mission is simple yet ambitious: to transform the world through cutting-edge research, innovative teaching, and meaningful public engagement.
We offer a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes tailored to explore pressing social and policy issues and equip students with robust social research methods. We are part of IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society, ranked number one for education worldwide every year since 2014 in the QS World University Rankings.
Launch of the Sociology MSc in September 2025
We are excited to introduce four new flexible postgraduate degrees in Sociology, designed to empower students to critically examine the societal structures that shape lives and uncover pathways for change.
