Studying Audiology
Audiology is a branch of science specialising in identifying and assessing hearing and balance function, and their associated disorders. It is a rapidly developing field and there is a huge demand for audiologists in the UK -16% of the UK population have significant hearing loss. According to WHO one in ten globally will have a disabling hearing loss by 2050.
About the UCL Ear Institute
The UCL Ear Institute provides a unique environment for teaching and research training in hearing sciences and related clinical subjects.
We bring together some of the most influential academics and clinicians in hearing, balance and ENT care. They work in fields as diverse as human genetics, biophysics, computational neuroscience, cell biology and human cognition and come together to create a genuinely collaborative research environment.
Our courses draw on the expertise of the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals. Our partnership with the hospitals makes us Europe’s largest single grouping of audio-vestibular discovery and clinical scientists.
We offer a variety of evidence-based and research-led graduate courses. These range from supporting students looking to develop a career in audiology, to developing advanced skills and knowledge for those already pursuing a career in audiology.
