Enhance your knowledge, understanding and skills in relation to teaching and learning in higher education.
This course is aimed towards both experienced and newly appointed higher education academic staff. Studying part-time, with flexible start dates to fit around your other commitments, you’ll develop an informed, reflective and self-critical approach to learning, teaching and assessment, enhancing your skills as a practitioner in higher education.
Typically you need
• a UK honours degree (or equivalent) in any subject
• 60 hours scheduled teaching in a HE context for each academic year – this must include planning, design and assessment, and can include up to five hours of research supervision and tutorials
• Sheffield Hallam staff need line manager approval
You may also be able to claim credit points which can reduce the amount of time it takes to complete your qualification at Sheffield Hallam.
If English is not your first language you will need an IELTS score of 7.0 with 6.5 in all skills, or a recognised equivalent. If your level of English language is currently below IELTS 7.0 we recommend you consider an appropriate Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course which will enable you to achieve the required level of English.
