Our MSc Psychology conversion course opens doors to many different interesting and exciting career paths across a wide range of fields. Many Psychology graduates find themselves developing, implementing and testing interventions in business, public and charitable sectors. This MSc equips you with the skills to find evidence-based solutions in these settings by including assessments where you present ideas and recommendations back to our external partners and see the real impact your work has produced.
You could also go on to train in specialist areas of Psychology through further study, such as USW’s Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology course.
The course includes a total of six taught modules and a research dissertation. All modules include content and assessment which is related to work our external partners are doing. Dissertations may be on a topic of individual interest or relevance to students however we encourage our students to consider getting involved in an applied dissertation set by one of our external partners. If studying part-time, your second year will capture the Lifespan Development in Context, Brain and Cognition, and Getting Ready to Research modules, as well as your applied dissertation research project. If you are studying full-time, you will complete all your modules and your dissertation in one calendar year (September to September).
