Course Description

A level of management expertise is critical to landing a leading role in construction. Our MSc in Project Management for Construction will help you confidently tackle the technical, commercial, organisational, financial and legal issues that can appear in a project’s lifecycle.

Accredited by The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)

The University of Portsmouth holds CIOB Accredited Centre Status during the period 2022-2027 and MSc Project Management for Construction is a CIOB Accredited programme (subject to conditions) during the period 2022-2027, having been judged to meet the CIOB Education Framework. Prospective members holding these qualifications have full academic exemption and once they have gained three to five years’ relevant work experience may enter CIOB membership as an applicant to progress towards Chartered Membership without the requirement for an Individual Assessment.

Entry Requirements

In order to join this course, you must have:

  • A good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, or equivalent industrial and work experience in the construction industry or other related field
  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.0 with no component score below 5.5 (or other acceptable proof), if English isn’t your first language
