The Power and Propulsion Gas Turbine Engineer Mastership addresses the knowledge, skills, and behaviour requirements of the Power and Propulsion Gas Turbine Engineer apprenticeship standard (Level 7). It is relevant to the energy and power, aviation, and defence sectors covering areas of design and development, operations, and maintenance of gas turbine systems. This apprenticeship programme offers two options: power and propulsion related to rotating machinery and aircraft propulsion respectively. The training consists of a combination of modules on the whole engine system, component design, as well as operations/applications.
Individual employers will set the selection criteria for their apprenticeships. In addition to this, a UK second-class honours degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Applied Science will be required. Relevant work experience may also be considered, in combination with a degree, for qualifications below second-class honours.
