Course Description

This physiotherapy degree seeks to educate students in the management and care of individuals with a range of prolonged conditions or musculoskeletal injury.

Why study Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration)?

Our Master’s degree in Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) provides you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to manage patients suffering from a range of conditions or musculoskeletal injuries, from the acute stage through to return to sport or activity. This includes working as part of a multidisciplinary team in the care of different patients.

There is currently a high demand for provision of physiotherapists across all areas of knowledge working in different settings. This demand is from the NHS both in primary care settings and community-based provision, local authority projects, sports, and private practice.

The MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) degree is a two-year taught programme with the addition of 1,000 placement hours that must be completed during the two years. The first year of the programme will contain the taught elements of the course with the placement starting in the second year.

 

Entry Requirements

An upper second class degree (or equivalent) in a related field is required.

Student Destinations

As a graduate of the MSc in Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration), you will be eligible to apply to join the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), the professional body overseeing and regulating the practice of Physiotherapy in this country.

Graduates will be eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
