Our Part Time course is aimed at those who come into contact with students in their roles, and want to further develop their teaching skills through a course with a strong emphasis on professional practice.
It is also suitable for individuals who are just embarking on a career in medical education and does not require previous teaching experience.
Most clinicians, medical researchers and health professionals engage in some form of teaching, whether this is on wards, in clinics or through other teaching opportunities with undergraduate students and/or trainees. However, few have had the opportunity for professional development in teaching.
Our programme is suitable for those new to medical education and training, as well as those with considerable experience.
We require you to hold either a primary medical qualification or an Upper Second class degree or overseas equivalent in a subject relevant to medical education, e.g. Biosciences, Psychology, Nursing, Pharmacy or Physician Associate Studies. In some cases it may be appropriate to admit experienced educators who hold other relevant qualifications or who have substantial relevant professional experience. This is at the discretion of the Programme Director.
