Masters Degree Description

This course has been designed to equip the next generation of leaders with skills in management, strategic planning, project design, implementation and monitoring, together with finance and management, or communication expertise. The future depends on leaders with the vision to be at the forefront of economic growth and change – change that will not only aid the economy, but also ensure that this is accompanied by good and transparent governance. 



This course will develop your knowledge, skills and awareness to enable you to help leaders transform their organisations by providing leadership through the creation and communication of shared vision and values. This will help you to achieve world-class standards of performance. You will study the board, executive and good governance; leadership, the self and creating the future; change management, and the development and implementation of change. You will also gain the vital professional and transferable skills of leadership, effective communication, team building, project management and personal development.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. All applications should be supported by a reference, either academic or professional; all applicants should satisfy our University English language requirements.
IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses.

Module Details

Learn to apply and use a range of principles, tools and techniques that assist project managers in ensuring that the project is delivered on time, to the right standard and to budget.

Develop a strategic organisational perspective as well as a basis for progression and application of strategic level skills, competencies, and decision-making capability.

Enhance your capability to lead, plan and implement change responsibly and with ethical awareness in order to position your organisations now and into the future.

You’ll be introduced to theory and models of leadership, reflection, personal development and change and will have the opportunity to consider your own leadership strategies and behaviours.

Develop a greater understanding and insight in to the concepts and theories of leadership of change and evaluate the value of ‘narrating the self’ in informing reflections on change.

You will carry out an in-depth research project in a subject area that is appropriate to the course and of particular interest to you.
