    MA Full-time 1 year, Part-time up to 4 years

Course Description

This programme is designed for people with an interest in exploring how dynamics of international development relate to processes of social change, citizen engagement and struggles for social justice.

It approaches international development studies from a range of critical perspectives to understand changing global agendas and dynamics. You’ll be taught by academics across a range of specialist areas that intersect with world development and the Global South including sports for development, communication and development, social movements, international relations, international management and entrepreneurship, disaster and sustainability.

While this master’s programme has a particular focus on the Global South, it recognises the interconnectedness of world development. By studying an International Development MA at a time of such dynamic change, widespread activism and social movements, you will critically reflect upon a breadth of major traditions, theories and frameworks of inquiry relevant to the contemporary challenges of international development.

Entry Requirements

A 2:2 honours degree with a minimum of 55% (or equivalent international qualification), in social science, humanities or associated subject.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to provide details of alternative qualifications or relevant professional or voluntary work experience as this will also be considered.
