Course Description

Learning from active researchers and practitioners, you will apply cutting-edge theory to global HR issues. The programme is suitable for those embarking on a career in HR and experienced HR Professionals who want to further develop their knowledge.

Entry Requirements

Normally a 2:1 honours degree in any discipline is expected from a UK university or an equivalent academic qualification from a similar non-UK institution is required. Non-graduates with very extensive professional experience and/or other prior qualifications may also be considered.

Graduates of MSc HRM will have gained skills in critical reflection about academic theories, as well as their practical application. This enables our students to be highly employable in a variety of industries. Students will be able to pursue careers in the HR function of PLCs, medium and small companies alike. Other suitable opportunities exist in management consultancy and in international universities. Our students develop the ability to think globally, so our alumni can be found in many locations across the world.

Some of our recent graduates now work in IBM, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, Home Office, Ford, and China Merchants Bank, working in roles such as HR Specialist, HR Manager, Recruitment Supervisor, Lecturer, and Education Consultant.

Module Details

This 12-month programme consists of nine compulsory modules, including HRM: Academic and Practitioner Perspectives (ULMS550), which runs over both semesters.

Over the summer, students undertake the Human Resource Management Research Project (ULMS840).
