The course equips you with the knowledge and understanding to explore educational practice (including your own) and develop your own approaches to effective change, supporting career progression to management roles. It also aims to encourage your evidence-based practice by broadening your knowledge of educational ideas and research findings.
You are not expected to confine your study to one particular area, but instead look at how different elements of education combine to influence and inform practice. So the course offers a range of optional units with broad themes, allowing you to explore and develop your skills and understanding in an area appropriate to your own practice, experience or interest. Units may include current policy analysis; educational leadership; coaching and mentoring; and meeting diverse needs. You also complete a dissertation in educational practice in an area of interest.
