Masters Degree Description

The digital age has enabled us to store, manipulate and access information of previously unimaginable scale and scope. In tandem, we are increasingly vulnerable to malicious data attacks. The security expert plays a vital role here. 

In this programme, you will develop an understanding of the central importance of security throughout the design and implementation of computer systems and develop the skills to implement and evaluate computer security measures.

You will gain an understanding of the threats to computer security and how to counter them, as well as knowledge of legislation relating to data protection and computer crime. The course content conforms to the framework supported by the BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT).

Entry Requirements

  • you will need at least a 2.2 honours degree or equivalent or a relevant postgraduate or professional qualification
  • and/or work experience
  • you should be able to demonstrate competency in IT
  • EU and international students need IELTS 6.5 overall (no less than 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in any other band) or equivalent
