PG Dip Community Specialist Practitioner

All applicants must have:-

An effective appropriate 1st level registration on the NMC professional in respect of the route they wish to take, as follows:

• General Practice Nursing: entry on sub part 1: Adult – RN1 or RNA or Child – RN8 or RNC
• Community Children’s Nursing: entry on sub part 1: Child – RN8 or RNC
• Community Nursing in the Home: entry on sub part 1: Adult – RN1 or RNA.

The equivalent of at least one year’s post-registration practice experience.
Experience of practicing within a healthcare environment for a minimum of 18 hours per week (or equivalent part-time) clinical activity.
Hold the equivalent of 360 credits of which 120 must be at Level 6 (degree level) in a relevant Nursing Practice or Social Sciences related subject.

Semester 1

• Principles of Public Health and Social Policy
• Introduction to Postgraduate Research,
• Community Specialist Practice in Perspective

Semester 2

Option Module,

• Community Practitioner Prescribing and 10 credit option OR 20 credit option module,
• Clinical Leadership for Practice Innovation, Perspectives of Community Specialist Practice

Semester 3

• Consolidation of Specialist Practice
