This course will support you to learn the creative and technical skills you need to work in the animation and visual effects industry. This course mixes creative and critical thinking, and will develop your technical skill-set using industry-standard software.
What sets this course apart from others is how industry-facing it is. You will work as part of a team on a live project to a targeted brief set by a professional client, learn professional production animation and VFX pipelines, and receive feedback on your work from professionals. You will also develop a narrative-based film, showreel, or breakdown reel as part of your final submission.
We have great connections to the animation and VFX industries, and many of our graduates have gone on to work around the world for top studios and franchises.
Your degree should be in a relevant subject for studying the course. You may also apply if you are able to demonstrate appropriate professional experience.
You will need to submit a showreel of your work. This will need to be a maximum of 2 minutes in duration and uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo at 1920x1080 HD resolution. Alternatively you may upload a portfolio of up to 15 pages. View showreel / portfolio requirements.
An interview with the Programme Director may be required as part of the decision-making process. You will be contacted to arrange an online interview at a mutually suitable time following submission of your portfolio.
We are unable to fully consider your application without a supporting creative portfolio
